Hi, I'm Smriti Richard 👋

I design experiences, write stories, and teach yoga

In a world where anyone can make anything, what matters is what you choose to make

Creativity

I make things

My way of being in the world is to create.

Apps, stories, excuses to visit the bookstore, design experiments, yoga flows, saucy pastas—I love making.

Everything I create is a reflection of my unfinished attempt to stumble through this human existence; thoughtfully, curiously, and with a notebook nearby.

Design

I love working with exceptional teams and building audacious products that positively change the way we interact with the world. I enjoy a complex challenge and I have been lucky to work at companies that give me the opportunity to stretch my wings.

Yoga

Movement as abhyāsa

Yoga has taught me to find my edge, and then go past it, all while being present to my intentions.

In essence, experiment and learn. The practice or abhyāsa is a catalyst to my creativty and self-discovery. It's how I create space for myself to imagine, and in my classes, I hope to hold space for others to do the same.

I teach vinyasa yoga, a dynamic 'flow' style that synchronizes breath with movement, seamlessly transitioning between poses rather than holding them for long periods.

I'm available to teach

Writing

I cook up small servings of imagination in an online zine called Midnight Snack. You’ll find magical short stories, contemporary flash fiction, whimsical essays, and reflections on being human.

With each piece, I sift through the everyday: expect a slice of creativity, culture, folklore, selfhood, the inner life, nature, dreams, and the liminal moments in between.
